HYBRID VEHICLE- A REVOLUTION IN AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY

Hybrid, as the name says is the cross breed of automobiles. A hybrid vehicle is a vehicle that uses two or more distinct power sources to move the vehicle. The term most commonly refers to hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), which combine an internal combustion engine and one or more electric motors.

 There are various types of hybrid vehicles, some using electricity, some combine electricity with petrol as back up ,then there are the ones running on gas , bio diesel n even ethanol. As the days progress by, the technology is advancing faster than one can imagine. The fossil fuels are running out dry and people will have to switch to other options to power their means of transport. The cost of petrol is on the rise and every day we see shout up in the price of crude. Moreover, the temperature is also on rise, which signalizes the need of Eco-friendly vehicles. At this stage choosing an alternative which is cheaper and eco-friendly is a better choice. This is where these new breed of vehicles come into play, the hybrids.
 Most of the car makers have now tried a hand on developing a hybrid of their own. The Toyota Prius seems to be the most popular hybrid, and then there was the Honda Insight. The Insight even topped the sales chart in Japan. It was the most fuel efficient car of its time averaging 25 KMPL.
 It won’t be long before these hybrids take out the fuel consuming vehicles which are getting harder to maintain and run.
There are even hybrid electric buses which can be used to transport the masses. All in all switching on to hybrids is inevitable, and now even racing cars are getting electric power. Soon the fuel powered vehicles will become a vintage.
 In all ways hybrids lead to a brighter and more eco friendly future of automobiles.
